For a client wanting both an inspiring studio for their small business and extra space for guests, we designed a smart accessory building that tucks into their urban backyard. A floating counter and rolling table provide flexible workspace within the highly crafted interior while built-in cabinetry houses all their tools of the trade. A concealed Murphy Bed, coffee bar, and bathroom allow the space to easily transition into a sweet suite for guests.
Panelized construction and triple-pane glass ensure comfort and energy efficiency. Fully insulated footings keep feet warm year-round, while a small heat pump easily handles heating and cooling in the airtight shell.
